AI and poetry

At Poem Stellium, we understand that some poets may choose to use AI tools as part of their creative process. We neither promote nor discourage this — it’s a personal choice.

What matters most to us is ethics and transparency.

We do not accept poems that are fully generated by AI and passed off as the poet’s original, unaided work.

However, AI can be a supportive tool — used to:

  • Generate prompts
  • Overcome writer’s block
  • Explore themes or creative directions
  • Help develop existing ideas
  • Support accessibility (e.g., for writers with learning difficulties, neurodivergent writers, those with dyslexia, mobility impairments, or chronic fatigue — anyone who may benefit from additional tools to help organise, edit, or express their thoughts)

Using AI in these ways does not diminish a poet’s authenticity. The soul of poetry still lies in the human voice, vision, and emotional truth.

We are building a community that values honesty, intention, and creative freedom — whatever path a writer chooses to take.
