Submissions – Poem Stellium
We are currently open for general submissions.
Poem Stellium welcomes poetry and short stories during selected submission periods throughout the year.
Submissions are not open year-round. They open in intentional cycles to allow space for careful reading, curation, and publication. When submissions are open, this page is updated with full details and access to submit.
What We Accept
Poetry & Short Stories
Poem Stellium welcomes original poetry of all styles and forms, including free verse, haiku, sonnets, spoken word, prose poetry, experimental poetry, and rhyming poetry.
We also welcome original short stories across a range of themes and genres.
We are drawn to work that explores emotion, experience, memory, identity, imagination, or inner life. The work does not need to follow one particular style, but it should feel sincere, reflective, and thoughtfully crafted.
Please note that, while we honour the form and intention of each piece, selected work may be presented in Poem Stellium’s house style for publication.
Creative Collaborations & Special Projects
At selected points throughout the year, Poem Stellium may open occasional creative collaborations or themed projects. These opportunities may combine poetry with other forms of expression and are announced individually when available.
Submission Process
When submissions are open, contributors may submit one piece per category during each submission period.
All submissions are made through a private form, which is provided after payment.
Submission Fee
A submission fee of £2.22 is required when submissions are open.
This supports the ongoing running of Poem Stellium, including platform maintenance, development, and the time involved in reviewing and curating submissions.
For those who wish to support the platform further, there is the option to contribute more.
Payment does not guarantee publication. All work is selected based on quality, intention, and alignment with the space.
Ongoing Projects
Poem Stellium also hosts selected ongoing projects that may accept work outside of general submission periods.
Our mental health-focused project remains open on a rolling basis. Details for this will be shared on its dedicated page.
Guidelines
• One submission per category during each submission period
• Work must be your own original writing and must not have been previously published
• Submissions must be in English
• External links are not accepted
• Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but please notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere
• Submissions are open to contributors worldwide
Selection Process
All work is read with care once submissions have closed.
If your submission is selected, you will be contacted after the submission period ends.
Due to the volume of submissions, individual feedback is not provided.
If you do not hear from us within one month of submissions closing, your work was not selected, and you are welcome to submit again during a future open call.
To allow space for a range of voices, contributors who have been recently published through an open call may be asked to wait before submitting again.
Rights & Publication
You retain full copyright of your work.
If your work is selected, you grant Poem Stellium a non-exclusive right to publish the accepted piece on its platform and associated channels.
Once published, the work becomes part of the Poem Stellium archive.
You are free to republish your work elsewhere, including in personal collections or future publications. Where possible, we ask that Poem Stellium is credited as the original place of publication.
Requests for removal will be considered on reasonable grounds.
Editing & Presentation
All published work appears in Poem Stellium’s house style.
Minor edits, such as spelling or punctuation, may be suggested where necessary. You will always be contacted and asked to approve any changes before publication.
A Final Note
Thank you for trusting Poem Stellium with your work.
