FEATURED SUBMISSIONS POETRY & SHORT STORIES
WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR FEATURED SUBMISSIONS.
Poem Stellium offers a Featured Submission option for writers who would like a more personalised and professional showcase of their work.
FEATURED INCLUDES:
- One poem or one short story per open term
- A short bio (max 80 words)
- A professional headshot
- An optional video presentation (e.g., reading an excerpt or performing your poem)
MEDIA NOTES:
- London-based contributors can request a headshot/video session with our editor.
- If you’re on the outskirts of London and willing to travel, you may still request a session.
- Contributors outside London may submit their own media, provided it meets our standards:
- Headshot: High-resolution, natural light, neutral background, no filters
- Video: Minimum 720p, clear sound, quiet/clean background
FEE: £5
The £5 submission fee supports the operational costs of Poem Stellium — including camera equipment, editing software, hosting, and contributor support.
None of the fee goes toward personal profit. All funds are reinvested into the platform to keep Standard submissions free and ensure we can continue offering high-quality opportunities.
SUBMISSION SCHEDULE:
We operate on a term-on, term-off basis.
You may submit one piece per open term when Featured submissions are active.
IMPORTANT GUIDELINES:
- Open to writers worldwide
- Work must be original, unpublished, and written in English
- Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but notify us immediately if accepted elsewhere
- No link submissions — upload your poem or short story as instructed
COPYRIGHT AND RIGHTS:
- You retain full copyright
- By submitting, you grant Poem Stellium a one-time, non-exclusive right to publish
- Your work will remain on our platform unless you request removal
RESPONSE TIME:
If selected, we will contact you within one month.
If you don’t hear from us within that time, your piece was not selected. Please don’t be discouraged — you are warmly welcome to try again next time.
NOTE:
If your work has previously been published on Poem Stellium through an open call, please refrain from submitting again unless you are entering a competition. This helps ensure we create space for as many new voices as possible.
