How It Works

At PoemStellium, we take the act of publishing poetry seriously. While we are an online publication, we have made a deliberate, thoughtful decision to open our doors to poetry manuscripts — a direction we do not take lightly.

We are here to offer opportunities to those whose voices are often unseen or overlooked, but we are intentional in our selection. We are not looking for just any work; we are looking for poetry that moves, transforms, and transcends — poetry that has shaped the author’s life and has the potential to help or inspire others.

When we accept a manuscript, it is because we believe in its ability to leave a lasting impact.

What We Offer

  • Careful review of all submissions
  • Professional in-house formatting and basic editing (grammar, spelling, layout)
  • Standardized, cohesive in-house cover design (no external or custom designs accepted, to maintain a unified look)
  • Optional extra editing services (for an added fee), if the author wants more intensive help shaping or refining their manuscript
  • ISBN registration and setup under the PoemStellium publishing imprint
  • Fair royalties, with clear terms set out in a publishing contract (authors always retain full copyright)

Submission Types

We run two types of submission windows throughout the year:

  • Free Submission Periods — Perfect for poets on Universal Credit or facing financial hardship; no fees apply if accepted.
  • Standard Submissions (Outside Free Periods) — If accepted, a £100 publishing fee applies. This covers the cost of ISBN registration, layout, formatting, and cover creation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Full-length poetry manuscripts only (we do not accept fiction, non-fiction, or hybrid manuscripts at this time)
  • Length: 30–60 pages, with an upper cap of 80 pages
  • Work that is raw, meaningful, and has the potential to inspire or transform readers
  • Poets ready to be part of a growing, intentional catalogue

How Long Will It Take?

Please allow up to 8 weeks for a response. If you do not hear back within that time, it means your manuscript was not selected. Due to high submission volumes, we cannot send individual rejection emails.

If You’re Accepted

If your manuscript is selected, you will receive:

  • welcome letter and publishing contract outlining royalties, rights, and next steps
  • The start of the editing and production process, working closely with the PoemStellium team
  • A final, polished publication — one we will be proud to carry in our catalogue, and that you can proudly share with the world

We are honoured you are considering PoemStellium as your publishing home.

Thank you for trusting us with your work.
