MyMind Project: Mental Health Awareness Week (Take One Action)
Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from 11–17 May 2026.
This year’s theme is Take Action.
Through the MyMind Project, we are creating a space for you to take one small action for your mental health and express it through writing.
This is not about perfection.
This is about honesty.
This is about giving yourself a moment.
What this is
A simple, open space to pause, act, and write.
You are invited to take one small action that supports your mental health, then write from that place.
Your action could be:
resting
going outside
drinking water
setting a boundary
saying no
asking for help
writing something you’ve been holding in
Or something personal to you.
What to write
You can submit:
a short poem
a few lines
a reflection
There is no minimum.
There is no expectation of perfection.
Just something real.
You may want to reflect on:
what the action felt like
what shifted — even slightly
what didn’t
Who can take part
Open to ages 16+.
If you are under 18, please ensure you have permission from a parent or guardian before submitting your work.
Submission details
Submissions are open from 11 May to 17 May 2026 (11:59pm UK time).
ANY WORK SUBMITTED BEFORE OPENING DATE WON’T BE CONSIDERED
Please submit your piece via email to:

MyMind Project – Mental Health Awareness Week

your name (or pen name)
the title of your piece (if it has one)
your written submission in the body of the email or as a document – no pdfs
What happens next
A small number of pieces will be selected and featured on the Poem Stellium website as part of the MyMind Project.
This is not a competition.
This is a shared space for expression, reflection, and connection.
A final note
You don’t have to do everything.
Just one small action is enough.
And if writing from that place helps you even slightly, that is more than enough.
