Our focus
The power of creativity to hold, heal, and connect.
At Poem Stellium, we believe creativity is more than expression — it is a way of making sense of the world, of naming what lives beneath the surface, and of finding connection through shared experience.
Our focus is rooted in the belief that words, images, stories, and symbols can hold emotional truth. They can offer reflection, release, and recognition. They can help people feel less alone.
Poem Stellium exists to make space for voices that are often unheard, overlooked, or underrepresented within literature and creative spaces. As a Black-founded independent platform, we are particularly passionate about creating space for Black writers and voices from minority, marginalised, working-class, and underrepresented backgrounds.
This commitment to representation sits alongside our belief that creativity should remain open and expansive. Poem Stellium welcomes writers and readers across cultures, communities, identities, and lived experiences, while remaining conscious of the inequalities that have historically shaped whose voices are published, recognised, and given space.
We are especially interested in work that speaks honestly from lived experience and explores the inner world with care.
Creativity as a form of care
We see creative expression — particularly writing — as a gentle and powerful tool for self-understanding. Through poetry, narrative work, and reflective practice, people can explore emotion, identity, memory, and meaning in their own time and in their own language.
Mental health sits at the heart of this work. Not as something to be fixed or simplified, but as something lived, complex, and deserving of compassion. We hold space for expression that acknowledges struggle, growth, uncertainty, resilience, and rest.
Astrology, reflection, and meaning-making
Alongside writing and mental health, Poem Stellium engages with astrology as a reflective and symbolic language — one that invites curiosity, self-awareness, and perspective.
Astrology, for us, is not about prediction or certainty, but about cycles, patterns, and reflection. It offers another way of understanding inner movement, timing, and change, and sits naturally alongside creative and emotional exploration.
What guides our work
Poem Stellium is shaped by a few core values:
Expression over perfection
We value honesty, feeling, and depth more than polish or performance.
Care over urgency
Creativity deserves time, gentleness, and space to unfold.
Access, representation, and inclusion
We aim to make room for voices that have historically been pushed to the margins, while building a creative community in which different experiences, cultures, and perspectives can exist alongside one another.
Connection over consumption
We believe in creativity as a shared, relational experience — not a product to rush or extract.
Growth as a process
Healing, creativity, and self-understanding are ongoing journeys, not fixed outcomes.
A living, evolving space
Poem Stellium continues to grow and change. Through writing, collaborations, conversations, workshops, and creative projects, it remains a space shaped by reflection, care, representation, and intention.
Whether you arrive as a reader, a writer, a listener, or someone simply curious, you are welcome here.
This is a space for feeling, for questioning, for making meaning — and for returning to yourself through creativity.
