SUBMISSIONS

We are thrilled to invite submissions across two creative categories: Poetry & Short Stories and Narrative Art.

At Poem Stellium, we believe in showcasing original, heartfelt work that moves and inspires. Whether through the rhythm of a poem, the arc of a story, or the visual journey of narrative art, we are honoured to be a platform where creativity finds its voice.

Submission Types Vary by Term

Each open call offers Standard (Free) or Featured (£5) options — sometimes both.

Please check this page during open calls to see what’s currently available.

Before submitting, please read all guidelines carefully. Each category has a dedicated page outlining the process and requirements.

Submission Categories

[SUBMIT POETRY & SHORT STORIES]

[SUBMIT NARRATIVE ART]

TWO SUBMISSION OPTIONS

1. STANDARD SUBMISSION (Free)

  • Submit one piece per term (poem, short story, or narrative art)
  • No bio, headshot, social handles, or video
  • Work is published in our clean, minimalist house style
  • Ideal for writers and artists who want their work simply shared and celebrated

2. FEATURED SUBMISSION (£5)

A professional, personalised showcase of your creative work. If accepted, your feature includes:

  • A short bio (max 80 words)
  • A professional headshot
  • An optional video presentation (e.g. poetry reading, story excerpt, or art showcase)

Media Notes

London-based contributors may request a headshot/video session with our editor.

If you’re based in the London outskirts and willing to travel, we’ll aim to accommodate where possible.

Contributors outside London may submit their own media, but it must meet the following standards:

  • Headshot: High resolution, natural light, neutral background, no filters
  • Video: Minimum 720p, clear sound, clean and quiet environment

Fee Transparency

The £5 featured submission fee does not guarantee publication.

Instead, it directly supports Poem Stellium’s operational costs:

  • Equipment (camera, lighting, editing software)
  • Website hosting, upgrades, and design
  • Outreach and resources to enhance contributor visibility

This structure ensures:

  • Standard submissions remain free and accessible
  • Featured contributors receive a high-quality, multi-dimensional presentation
  • All funds are reinvested into the platform — we do not take personal profit

Important Notes

  • All submissions must be originalpreviously unpublished, and in English
  • Poetry & short stories must be typed
  • Narrative art must be submitted as a PDF
  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed — please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere
  • Submit only during open terms — anything sent outside these periods will be disregarded without acknowledgment
  • If your work has previously been published on Poem Stellium through an open call, we kindly ask that you do not submit again unless participating in a competition. This policy helps us provide opportunities to as many artists as possible.

Publication Terms & Rights

By submitting to Poem Stellium, you confirm the following:

  • You retain full copyright of your work
  • You grant Poem Stellium the non-exclusive right to publish your accepted piece on our website and platforms
  • Once published, your work becomes part of our permanent archive and cannot be removed
  • You are welcome to republish your piece elsewhere at any time — including in personal collections, anthologies, or platforms that accept reprints
  • We do not claim ownership or exclusivity — but we do require that the version published on Poem Stellium remains online
  • Submission confirms your agreement to these terms

If you have questions or uncertainties, we encourage you to read our full Poem Stellium Submission Policy

Formatting & Edits

All work is published in capital letters as part of our house style, which means original formatting may not be preserved.

Before publication, we may make minor edits to correct spelling, punctuation, or grammar where necessary — particularly for short stories.

If any changes are made, we will always contact you first to ensure you’re happy with the final version before we proceed.

We can’t wait to experience your work.

Thank you for trusting Poem Stellium with your creativity.
